Historic Cheese Market

Genuine traditional farmhouse cheeses that are transported on old-fashioned tractors.
Woerden is a real cheese city. It is therefore the best place to treat the public to a festive cheese feast; The ‘Boerenkaasmarkt’. The town has a centuries-old cheese market tradition that still persists. The first batches of cheese were transported from the surrounding countryside to the center of the city of Woerden as early as 1885 to be traded. The ‘Boerenkaasmarkt’ is held every Saturday in the summer months from the beginning of June to the end of August.
