Vrede-Oord cheese farm

Organic… extra love for our cows and nature. From our milk to cheese.

In Kamerik, close to the city of Woerden, Paul en Lise Zwetsloot make their farmers cheese from the biological milk of their 70 milking cows. In 1997 cheese farm Vrede-Oord converted into biological farming. We think that is a great way of farming because itโ€™s better for animals, humans and nature.

Farming biologically brings you closer to nature and it is healthier for our cows. The cows are outside as much as possible where you feed themselves with fresh grass and herbs. If it is too wet or too cold we give them shelter of course in our barn where they have their own bed and food. We do not use any chemical products on our land and everything that we need from outside is biologically certified.

In our cheese factory we make Wilde Weide Kaas. That is cheese guaranteed to be produced in the Groene Hart region. Made out of biological raw milk with attention to nature and the landscape. Last but not least it tastes fantastic!

All our cheese is sold in the cheese shop on our farm but it is also available at different markets across the country. Next to Wilde Weide Kaas our KamerTaler is also a very special cheese. It is our take on the famous Emmentaler cheese.
